OUR WORK METHOD

At VANTOT, every project is a journey—from initial exploration to tangible realization. Our approach is structured yet fluid, allowing creativity and technical expertise to merge seamlessly.

1. Site Visit

Every project begins with an in-depth visit to the site. This step is crucial in understanding the space, its atmosphere, and how light interacts within it. We examine the ceiling, considering both its potential and limitations, as it often plays a fundamental role in our designs. These insights form the foundation of our creative process.

2. Visualization & Ideation

Armed with information, context, and the client’s wishes, we dive into the ideation phase. We like to experiment with sketches in a hybrid form using paper and digital tools. For larger-scale projects, we even develop custom tools to create hyper-realistic visualizations. This phase is an iterative process, where concepts evolve through continuous dialogue with the client and the space itself.

3. Realization

From the very start, we consider technical feasibility, ensuring that every idea is realistic and can be brought to life. Once a concept is finalized, we refine every detail—creating final and technical drawings before moving into production. Thanks to our extensive network of expert partners, we guarantee a seamless transition from concept to high-standard execution.

We’ve developed a tool to visualize the pieces we aim to create. This tool greatly enhances our collaboration on projects, helping us align on the ideal light installation that everyone envisions. It often encourages clients to embrace more extreme and experimental ideas. The tool also allows for real-time rendering of the light, showcasing the final result effectively. We integrate the lights into a steel cable structure, creating patterns together—or, at times, opting for a more chaotic arrangement. Let’s try

Ceilings are rarely straightforward when it comes to installing lighting. In fact, most require a custom approach. That’s where we come in. At VANTOT, we offer custom and safe suspension solutions that are both functional and easy to maintain over time.

Installing large-scale lighting isn’t just about design—it’s about finding smart, practical ways to hang and service it. Many spaces weren’t originally designed with lighting installations in mind. Some have limited access points, while others were built with a single weight-bearing spot that isn’t sufficient for the project. Whatever the challenge, we collaborate to find the best technical yet elegant solution—ensuring both safety and long-term usability, making it easy to maintain and service the lighting when needed.

A NEW WAY TO EXPRESS : COLOURED GLASS

At VANTOT, we have developed a unique approach to colouring our glass—one we truly believe in. Instead of tinting the glass itself, we apply an ultra-thin nano layer. Unlike painted glass, which blocks light, or traditionally coloured glass that alters its hue, our technique subtly tints the light while maintaining its quality. The result? A refined, luminous effect with beautifully coloured shadows.

We integrate this technique into our sandblasted glass, offering a delicate balance between colour and transparency. To help you find the perfect shade, we provide coloured glass samples tailored to your preferences. Every colour is manually blended, the possibilities are vast.

Special Collaborations

TAILORED DESIGN FOR UNIQUE SPACES

At times, we open ourselves to special collaborations, creating bespoke lighting pieces designed specifically for a place. Our custom Cosmos Single pendant for Somma Restaurant in Singapore is one such project. From the very beginning, we knew this was something special. Inspired by our Cosmos series, we reimagined its signature glass element and, together with Nice Projects, designed a custom pendant exclusively for this space. This project reflects our open and explorative approach; where design evolves through collaboration, leading to new and exciting possibilities.
