KUBIUS

Commissioned by CBRE, VANTOT designed KUBIUS, a bespoke chandelier for the Living Lobby of World Trade Center Amsterdam, in collaboration with architects TANK.

Suspended above the central bar, KUBIUS is composed of modular blocks that come together to form a single sculptural composition. Positioned at the social heart of the building, the chandelier brings light, material and geometry together in a design that connects with the architecture and the people who use the space.

Materiality and resource efficiency were central to the design. By carefully considering the construction and using only the material needed, we created a light sculpture that makes a strong architectural statement with a minimal amount of material. The modular blocks form a coherent whole, where every detail contributes to the overall composition.

KUBIUS reflects VANTOT’s approach to bespoke architectural lighting: combining technical precision, thoughtful material choices and sculptural expression to create lighting that is integral to the experience of a space.

“Home is Where the Heart Is” is we called the piece. To pay homage to our beloved Eindhoven It will lie at the heart of the exhibitions showed at Kazerne – the design platform in central Eindhoven that since 2014 has provided a collaborative ecosystem to both support and shape the evolution of Dutch design.

With our own tool in Blender we are able to create all kind of proposals.
